Business Development Manager

Client Engagement & Meetings:

  • Conduct in-person meetings with clients at the company office.
  • Conduct off-site / client-site meetings when required.
  • Manage relationships with existing clients across defined client segments.
  • Engage with Affluent and HNW clients.
  • Build and maintain long-term, trust-based client relationships.

Client Onboarding & Support:

  • Onboard incoming clients (cold and warm leads).
  • Clearly explain the company’s operating model, platform, and available investment solutions.
  • Guide clients through their initial journey and establish ongoing engagement.
  • This role does not include the provision of personalised financial advice under FAIS.

Sales & Relationship Development:

  • Convert incoming prospects into active clients.
  • Grow existing client relationships (retention and lifetime value).
  • Upsell and cross-sell investment solutions within suitability guidelines.
  • Manage client expectations and handle objections professionally.
  • Deliver a consistently high level of client service.

Internal Coordination & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of all client interactions in CRM.
  • Prepare follow-up summaries after meetings.
  • Coordinate with support, back office, and product teams as needed.
  • Contribute to the improvement of client experience and sales proсesses.

Requirements

Mandatory:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a sales or client-facing role (investments, finance, wealth management, or banking preferred).
  • Proven experience conducting face-to-face and off-site client meetings.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Solid understanding of basic investment instruments and market principles.
  • English — professional working proficiency.

Advantageous:

  • Experience working within the South African market.
  • Understanding of currency exposure and risks (ZAR / USD / GBP).
  • Experience working with Affluent and HNW clients.
  • Existing client base.
  • Experience in international investment or fintech environments.
