Constellation (STZ) had a stronger Q2, led by better beer results and a clear improvement in Wine and Spirits. Pacifico and Victoria were the main brands driving market share gains, while Wine and Spirits returned to operating profit after reporting a loss in the same quarter last year. Modelo Especial remained the number-one US beer brand by sales value, although sales through to retailers declined. The result was helped by higher shipments, money recovered from tariffs in Wine and Spirits, and savings from the company’s restructuring programme, but higher marketing and other business costs reduced operating profit.
● Net sales: $2.63 billion (+6%)
● Comparable earnings per share: $3.74 (+3%)
● Operating profit: $805 million (-8%)
● Free cash flow: $1.1 billion year to date (+4%)

● Operating profit: $964.2m (+1%)
● Sales through to retailers: -0.6%
Wine and Spirits
● Net sales: $159.4m (+17%)
● Operating profit: $6.1m (vs operating loss of $19.8m prior period)

Share Price Performance
The share price is trading at levels last seen in March 2020, after falling approximately 58% from its all-time high. STZ closed at $115.67 on 6 October 2026, up 2.08% that day. The stock is down 7% over one month and 15.64% over one year, showing that the shares have been under pressure despite the better quarter.
What Could Move the Share
Upside:
● Sustained beer share gains: continued growth from Pacifico, Victoria and Chelada products could show that the main beer business is gaining momentum. Stabilisation in Modelo Especial and Corona Extra would also help.
● Wine and Spirits turnaround: another quarter of stronger sales through to retailers and operating profit would suggest that the restructuring and brand investment are working.
● Shareholder returns and debt reduction: continued share buybacks, dividends and debt repayment could support the share price if cash generation remains strong.
Downside:
● Cautious customers: weaker spending, particularly in the US beer market, could reduce sales through to retailers even if shipments remain positive.
● Weakness in major brands: further declines in Modelo Especial or Corona Extra could offset growth from smaller brands.
● Cost pressure: higher marketing, staff, distribution, tariff, or raw-material costs could reduce the benefit of higher revenue.
● Debt and execution risk: the company’s debt load and the need to make SpikedAde successful leave less room for mistakes.
