Navigating the BROKSTOCK app — Funds, ETFs, stocks, crypto | BROKSTOCK Tutorial

Hi and welcome to another video tutorial!

In this video, our analyst Maboko Seabi walks you through the BROKSTOCK app content and how you can use it effectively to make more informed investment decisions. Watch the full walkthrough here, or read on for a detailed breakdown of each section.

Once you've logged into the app, you'll land on the default page — the For You page. Here's what you'll find and how to use each section.

Highlights

Under Highlights, expect to find market-moving news, updates from BROKSTOCK, and any new instruments that have been added. We update this section frequently, so it's your go-to for quick news on what's happening around the world.

Finance Ghost

BROKSTOCK has partnered with Finance Ghost to bring you in-depth, balanced analysis on individual stocks.

Recent articles have covered a diverse range of companies, from global tech giants like Microsoft to South African retailers such as Lewis Group and Pepkor. Each piece examines company performance, competitive positioning, and the broader macroeconomic factors that may influence outcomes — all while maintaining a balanced approach.

Markets Analysed

This section covers weekly analysis and earnings reports from both the JSE and the US markets. It gives you an overview of how the market will look for the week ahead and shows how companies have been performing quarterly or half-yearly.

Getting Started

This section is mostly for new investors who don't know where to start and don't fully trust the analysis they find in the app. It includes:

- Blue Chip Stocks – Companies that have been around and withstood market downturns

- Magnificent 7 – The biggest tech stocks

- Penny Stocks – Companies selling for less than $5 or 10 rand. An accessible entry point for smaller capital, though typically more volatile than larger stocks.

Investment Insights

Here we focus on actual entry and exit prices.

Investment Insights – Our analysts dig deep into specific stocks, identifying key cases and thoroughly examining available information to offer a quality overview of each opportunity. You'll find detailed analysis, including potential price movement scenarios worth considering before making your own investment decisions.

Growth Leaders

These are the best-performing companies. You can filter them by performance over 1 day, 7 days, or 30 days — whatever timeframe you're interested in.

Crypto

This section covers market movers and news coming out of the crypto space that could affect investors. We've grouped some of the crypto tokens available in the app, so you can get a nice overview of what's happening in crypto.

Investment Strategies

Here you'll find different strategies you can deploy, whether you're interested in:

- Undervalued companies

- Long-term growth potential

- Short-term growth potential

- Most volatile companies

- Dividend-driven shares

Companies are grouped according to their performance and growth over the past few years.

Key Sectors

This gives you an overview of any sector or industry you're interested in. Whether it's REITs, mining companies (under Materials), or any other industry — you can search for it here and find specific companies to invest in.

Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs)

Here you'll find different themes to invest in. ETFs can be found under indices, commodities, or specific themes like AI chips. You can also see which ones are passively managed and which are actively managed funds.

Dividends

Under this section, you'll see dividends that will be paid for the week for both JSE and US stocks. They're grouped according to the amounts that will be paid.

Price Drop

Here you'll see companies that have dropped in price over the past 1 day, week, or month. This helps you spot which companies have been performing badly — and potentially identify opportunities.

The For You page brings all of this together in one place. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced investor, these tools are designed to help you navigate the markets with confidence.
